Fun Dog Events

The world would be a boring place without
dogs which is exactly why Game Fair
invites dogs of all shapes and sizes!

One of the most entertaining attractions at
Game Fair are the numerous dog events from
9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. everyday.

Eukanuba Scurry:Dog and puppies race for the best time making retrieves on land and from the lake. The event is located at the south end of the lake and sponsored by IAMS Dog Food.
Cost $1.00
(Located at South End of Lake).

Long Jump off the Dock: Follow the oohs and aahs from the crowd at the north end of the lake as they watch dogs of all sizes race down the runway and launch themselves off the dock on a retrieve. Jumps over 20 feet are common. Daily finals at 4 p.m. The competition heats up the last Sunday of Game Fair when the daily winners square off to see who is the champ.
Cost $1.00
(Located at North End of Lake)

Obstacle Course: Speed and agility is the name of the game as dogs go over, under, around and through the obstacles making one retrieve on land and another in the water. Located on the north end of the lake, this event is a great opportunity to see a wide variety of breeds in action.
Cost $1.00
(Located at North End of Lake)

Pointing Dog Event: Dogs hunt natural cover on a leash to point the most pheasants in a three-minute period. Open from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. A prize goes to the dog that points the most birds.
Cost $2.00
** Daily prizes awarded, but no run-off on Sunday **
(Located SE corner of Game Fair Grounds, just beyond Waterfowler Hill).

Decoys, Decoy “Dash for Cash”: Making a retrieve through a field of decoys is no small task. Doing it faster than any other dog is quite a challenge not to mention fun to watch. Top price in this one is $200! All entry fees for this competition are donated to the Build a Wildlife Area project.
Cost $1.00
(South End of Lake).

Wild Goose Bump and Jump: The dog hears the quack of a duck, the sound of a shot and then a dummy launched from the remote Bumper Boy flies through the air into a set of goose decoys in the lake. Test how your dog does with this retrieve amongst decoys. A great way for your dog to cool off and burn some energy all at the same time!
Cost $1.00
(Middle of the lake)

Agility and Herding Dog Demonstrations: NEW this year! Watch trained dogs and their handlers run through an agility course and learn how they do it. See trained dogs work a herd of livestock (ducks) around obstacles and into a pen.
